This is for those who are suffering in silence.
This is for those who are growing up confused, sad, alone, and maybe even depressed.
This is for those who have lived through experiences they wouldn’t wish on their worst enemy.
This is for those who are growing up without a voice, to those who are afraid to speak.
This is for those who are excellent liars at pretending that everything is all right, when in fact nothing is.
This is for those that flinch every time someone puts a hand on their shoulder.
This is for those whose lives are filled with so much hate, pain, fear, hurt, betrayal and lies.
This is for those who wake up in the middle of the night to nightmares, which are nowhere as near as terrifying as their reality.
This is for those who are growing up knowing that the worst kind of pain and fear isn’t the one that makes you scared or scream. But, the one that silences you and keeps you quiet.
This is for those who constantly question themselves asking ‘Could I have done something wrong?’.
This is for those who grew up so quickly, took care of their siblings, chased those monsters under the beds, to those who aren’t afraid because they know who the real monsters are.
This is for those who are suffering in silence, but still give that unconditional love, who tell people they love them, who give out hugs and give and give and give. In hope that one day that it will be returned.
This is for those who had every reason to give up – but held on to that little bit of hope.
I promise you
… that you will come to learn that there is some goodness in the world. That there are people out there that will love you unconditionally.
… You will come to learn that not everyone is out to get you.
… you will prove to those who doubted you, those voices that screamed at you and told you your life was a mistake, you will prove them wrong. Those scars will heal the pain will go.
… and there will come days where you remember, you will have flashbacks, your hands will shake, it will try to ruin your present and future. You will no longer be in danger, you are safe.
… years will pass by and it will be a distant memory, only your scars will tell the story.
I promise you the pain will pass, and when it does you will be stronger…
Be who you needed when you were younger
