Your twenties are the most confusing years of your life. They are the most hardest years of your life. Your twenties are the years where you are constantly questioning yourself. Honestly, I think your twenties are supposed to be a complete shitshow.
I think the most hardest part of being in your twenties is losing people who you thought would stick around forever. You will stop talking to those high school friends that you used to see and speak to every single day. They will slowly stop liking and commenting on your instagram, facebook and twitter posts. You will stop talking to family members who you used to see every holiday. You will lose the people you love the most to arguments, to fights or maybe even death.
I think the worst part of your twenties is finally coming to the realisation that the people you once loved won’t be around forever. Some will distance out of your life slowly, you will slowly stop seeing them and the texting will lessen over time. Then, maybe you will only interact through facebook stalking and Instagram likes now and again.
In your twenties you come to realise that anyone can let you down, no matter how long you have known them, or even loved them. In your twenties you will grieve the loss of people that are still alive.
I think it’s important to remember that it’s okay to let some people go, it’s okay to move on. It’s okay to outgrow people, people who you thought would be part of your life forever. It’s perfectly normal to feel lost in your twenties, it’s even okay to constantly question yourself. Your twenties will be damm hard. Your twenties will suck.
I know what it feels like to be 24 and lost and I sure as hell know that it’s the worst place on earth.
